on June 10, 2001.
How she came to UAB:
KB was one of the top Junior College recruits,
and picked UAB because of former teammate Maria Thipe and Coach Mert Ertunga's
great reputation as a coach.
Perception of the United States:
(Before she came): "I thought the US was
full of opportunities, and that it would be a great place for me to pursue
my tennis career and education."
(After she came): "I think the same, except now I think that most Americans live their lives according to what they see on TV and movies." This
Future Plans: Now that
I have finally graduated from UAB, I would like to get a job and go on
with life. Playing tennis is out of the picture, however I have one goal
of becoming a good tennis coach one day. If I can be given the opportunity,
I hope to give young people the opportunity to make something out of their
athleticism. I would like to see many young children from Mmabatho Tennis
Center following in my footsteps. I have already started a foudation
for the kids at my club back home. I am collecting used tennis shoes, clothes,
raquets, and all kinds of tennis stuff, so if you have anything to donate,
please contact me and we can do business.
Greatest accomplishments:
Her greatest accomplishment is coming to
the United States to play tennis.
Motto: "Everybody should do whatever makes them happy, as long as it is not harmful to others."
